oh, scandalous thought…

Go on up to the mountain of mercy

To the crimson perpetual tide

Kneel down on the shore

Be thirsty no more

Go under and be purified

Follow Christ to the holy mountain

Sinner sorry and wrecked by the fall

Cleanse your heart and your soul

In the fountain that flowed

For you and for me and for all

At the wonderful, tragic, mysterious tree

On that beautiful scandalous night you and me

Were atoned by His blood and forever washed white

On that beautiful, scandalous night

On the hillside, you were delivered

At the foot of the cross justified

And Your spirit restored

By the river that poured

From our blessed Savior’s side

At the wonderful, tragic, mysterious tree

On that beautiful, scandalous night you and me

Were atoned by His blood and forever washed white
On that beautiful, scandalous night

Go on up to the mountain of mercy

To the crimson perpetual tide

Kneel down on the shore

Be thirsty no more

Go under and be purified

At the wonderful, tragic, mysterious tree

On that beautiful, scandalous night you and me

Were atoned by His blood and forever washed white

On that beautiful,
scandalous night.

  1. That’s too bad, I need someone’s expert analysis of the situation! Because I surely don’t get it and you’re pretty smart. See, another redeeming quality…The only quality of yours I know about that needs to be redeemed is your fervent support of the Cowboys :0)

  2. Awesome! I like how the writer used the word “scandalous night” It gives the song the significance and highlights the fact that his death and resurrrection was scandalous and shocking! How humbling to bow yourself and submit to your creation in order to save them!Hey!! I just poked you suddenly!!!

  3. OK, I’ll lay off the Cowboys…There is an exciting new post up now…If you truly do wish to analyze my “situation”, I would be open to it, just because wisdom is found in many counselors and I think somebody who is distant from the situation could look at it more objectively than I could or than anyone who knows the parties involved. I would feel comfortable giving you an email address…I don’t think you are a terrorist threat or a hacker or anything. But, I know you value your privacy, so I will leave that up to you for your prayerful consideration. I’ll be cool with it either way.
