ever notice the many ways God takes care of you?
sometimes it’s the big things, like keeping you out of the path of a tornado by giving you a slow waitress (or cook) at Denny’s.
sometimes it’s the tiny things, like sending help at just the right moments when you’re babysitting in a strange hotel.
and sometimes it’s just things at home, in your family…so personal that no one else would get it.
obvious (and not so obvious) “God moments”
i’ve had a lot of those lately.
was i just not looking before?
how has God cared for you lately?
Good stuff. Um. I’ll answer later.
ah! such a good question! He brought us to a new beautiful church that we both love!!
We decided to make hummus the other day, so we bought ingredients at the store. When we came home we realized we didn’t have any tahini (mashed sesame seeds) and it’s impossible to make hummus without it. Our spirits were down, and on the verge of aggrevation. I looked in the fridge, no tahini. But when I went to the pantry there was a whole jar that hadn’t been opened yet. Mom and bought two at time a long time ago. He had been thinking about that moment for a while. He is my provider.
i remember once a few years ago – i needed $10 to take a test so i could start going to community college. of course, i didn’t have a dime to my name, nor did my parents or my sister at that moment as well.anyway, this was a few months after my high school graduation, so i wasn’t expecting any further cards and/or gifts in the mail.lo and behold, the day before i was to take the test, a card from my aunt in ny arrived -and inside was, you guessed it – a check for $10.God is indeed so good!
He sent me to Russia, and he kept me alive the whole time.
That’s cool.Makes me want to start digging forsomething to really just be like, “WOW!”about. And then I realize I don’t have todig…I can run for TEN MINUTES NOW!!!YEEESSSS!!!!I’m not dying by the end of it.Halleluja!Mr. Mc. says he sees major improvement.HAH!!I HAVE CONQUERED!!!!!!!So anyway…excuse that little burst of enthusiasm.
okay, wellllll, i recorded that song whose lyrics i put on my xanga some weeks ago. would you like to hear it? shall i send a cd? (smile)
Thanks for your comment. I’m glad my musings were useful to someone other than myself. Indeed, the fences to protect your future marriage are either being built or neglected right now. This whole situation has been quite sobering to me.
On a lighter note, will you be able to come to the shower next weekend? It will be nice to see y’all!
(grin) they’re showing “sleepless in seattle” on tv right now. i just finished mowing my parents’ yard while they’re out of town, and they have limited cable which happens to include tbs, otherwise known as the “all ‘chick-flicks,’ all the time” channel. although sometimes they throw in “total recall” or one of the back to the futures for a little change.i like this movie, but it makes me wish i could see what happens after they leave the empire state building together. and what their marriage would look like. and so on. that’s one reason why i love “it’s a wonderful life” so much–you see their marriage as well as their courtship, and both are pretty darn sweet.
the “dirty dozen” scene is on right now (laugh)…
