Our first spring storm last night.
I haven’t heard thunder in so long.
I love snuggling down in my bed and listening to the rain,
the sharp cracks of thunder, the distant rumbling.
Storms like that help me understand phrases like, “rumblings in the deep.”

They say rain will come and go for a few days and then clear up.
I suppose after that we can all stand back and watch spring explode around us.
Everyone’s lawn will turn shockingly green and grow like crazy.

  1. I drove through that rain storm. The lightning was spectacular, when I was awake to see it.
Yeah, I think the tiredness opens my mind. I’ve also been wrestling with something for a while now and I think I’m approaching a climax.

  2. That was some pretty good sleep.
Just yesterday I was noticing my yard looking too brown.  Maybe this will fix that.
Clear creek was running nice and high too.  I want to get some whitewater time in . . .

  3. Speaking of spring…we went to the park by the river yesterday…whohoooo…now I have a red face…how, kimosabe
We need a good storm that I can sit out on the screened in porch and listen too and play guitar…that is the best, to play while it is going on, especially if it is dark.
You don’t know if its the woman in you or the human? Are you impling there’s a difference ***grin***?

  4. I think our posts crossed.
Hmm papa john’s has some monday night special.  I wish I could afford the calories.
They’re talking about hitting the river this weekend.  It’s going to be crazy with spring break traffic.

  5. Yeah, I thought about waking you up, but then I thought, ‘she’s a little sick, she needs the sleep.’ So snort sob and sniff all you want; it was for your own good.
I did rush out of there pretty fast. I got home at 4:00! That’s a secret though… (on the worldwide internet.)

  6. Thanks for your care and concern for Giosué; he is happily sitting next to me right now, playing and babbling, and eagerly accepting bits of bread from my lunch. We got your storm on Sunday evening, I think.  And another one today. I love storms!

  7. And our second spring storm last night; it was an awesome ruckus! I love those rumblings in the deep; they sound so three dimensional and textured, as if they were rolling through some kind of heavenly terrain. Those pictures were taken in Galveston. I’d like to get a tripod and a good camera and catch some of the lightning some day. Thanks for the super encouragement about the sounds. =) I had a blast doing it!

  8. We went for Steve Y’s bachelor party… sort of. It was really just a chance to go, so we took it. Guadalupe Peak, where we climbed, is 8,749 feet. We even saw snow.

  9. so um… i’m not going to be in the show that weekend… i’m going on vacation in NYC.
but i’ll be in it this weekend and the final weekend (April fools weekend)
sorry about that… hope to see you soon
