I like the turn of phrase “turning a lacy green”…it is very poetic and old school…like Jane Austen old school. Very nice. Alas, it went from 70 degrees and lunch in the park to cold rain today…almost adds emphasis to the dreariness the way a really loud crescendo adds emphasis to a softer part coming before it in music…

I noticed it yesterday. The elms have their frilly seeds out on the tips of their branches. And one has a dead comorant growing from it too!
