best compliment ever

My life (working with children so much) does not afford me many
opportunities to dress up, so I’ve become rather casual, even though I
dearly love pretty clothes.  Well, last night we had our yearly
Christmas girl party, so I seized the moment and arrived dressed to the
nines (well, at least to the eights, which is as far as my current
wardrobe allowed).  When I walked in one of the younger(ish) girls
said, “Sara, you look smashing!  If there was a boy here, he
would be smashed.”

  1. I’m glad that happened…and I’m sure it was true…
That’s pretty interesting as far as the way everybody’s mission callings are intersecting…yes, Bobbie was the one who went to Romania and posted so much about it…I think 3 or 4 other TN xanga’ers went, but most of them are not regular posters.
I found out that our “mother” church, Calvary Ft. Lauderdale sends a short term team to India every year the way we do Romania and (an undisclosed Middle East location…hehehe, I feel so covert sharing that)…anywhoo, my pastor suggested I go with them to see how I liked it before possibly contacting Gospel For Asia about a more permanent thing, so we’ll see. But it won’t just go away…two nights ago, my sister in law let the little girls watch a movie on the big TV after we’d finished whatever it was we were watching, which is pretty rare…they usually can watch just not at night. The movie? The Secret Garden, which starts in India…weird, huh?

  2. hehehe.  I guess that’s why they compare love to being drunk, eh?  I never realized until now we use the same word for both.  And, yes, it does sound like something Swallower would say.

  3. Haha!  Being a “gurl” every now and again is fun, isn’t it!  The neat thing about working with kids is…they tell you your beautiful [smashing], even when you’re very casual…no make up, and hair quite unkempt….even in yur pj’s….go figure.
