I hear stuff that sounds like it was read from poor richards almanac and it ran through 430 other people before it got to me: and Im supposed to quiver in awe of this plaigarized(however you spell that :)) revelation. I don’t get insulted anymore, because I realize its sincere to some degree…but do you think its necessary? For the elementary, or sucklings( or whatnot), in christ, then sure, it could mean something. But when I have someone fail to ask me anything about my understandings or views, and then plop this regurgitated one-liner on me…..my greater concern is “Is this necessary?” Should we quote all the little clever things, because they sound so familiar, without questioning whether the person addressed never intended what your trying to correct in the first place? “you” here is understood. I’m not addressing you specifically.
I guess I envision a utopian society of original people…who don’t claim to be anything special….or so presumptuous to think that someone else might just be less educated without asking. Where people think, instead of recite. Where the intention of love is goal, and nothing is obligatory. This means something to me, because I’ve heard lots of ridiculous notions supported by these “baptist puns”(i’m close to baptist, you cold say) and it sounds good. But where’s the evidence? Intention? Sincerity? All this superiority displayed through assumption. You used a phrase, and I want to know why you used it, how you feel about that, how you feel about my view, and if I should change my mind, or augment my view. Honestly, this is a good communication excercise, typing in general, but as I’ve asked before, I want to be swayed. So if I can’t be, I’m that much closer to the truth. Yes, I firmly believe in Jesus Christ as fully God and submit to him as Lord. No, it is not my intention to be pedantic.
i had dreams about an old dog we used to have last night…he came running when i called. it was nice (smile). speaking of which, yep, it’s me in my picture…it was the only pic i had that matched the new colour scheme. i only recently discovered that i smile when i sleep. this was photographic evidence, though i have eyewitness accounts from others as well… (grin)
Is this an adventure that you can talk about? Some of us are dying to know what adventure has popped up in your life. Indeed, you must be careful what you ask for because you might just get it.
