My sister was right–Switchfoot keeps writing songs for me. They
did “Twenty-four” the year I was twenty-four, and now “Daisy”….
Daisy, give
yourself away
Lookup at the
rain
The beautiful display
Of power and
surrender
Giving us today
And she gives
herself away
Rain, another rainy day
Comes up from the ocean
Give
herself away
She comes down easy
On rich and dead the same
And she gives herself
away
Let it
go
Daisy, Let it go
Open up
your fist
This
fallen world
Doesn’t hold your interest
It doesn’t hold your soul
Daisy, let it go
Pain, give yourself a name
Call yourself contrition
Avarice
of blame
Giving isn’t easy
Neither
is the rain
When she gives
herself away
Daisy, why another day?
Why another
sunrise
Who will take the blame
For all redemptive motion
And every rainy day
When he gives
himself away
Let it go
Daisy, let it go
Open
up your fist
This fallen world
It doesn’t hold your interest
It doesn’t
hold your soul
Daisy, let it go
I want to learn to let the world go and give myself away.
~The Daisy Girl
yeah, i guess that is kind of ironic. I don’t think I ever would have noticed that. lol. I write what I feel and feelings change from moment to moment. who knows, the next thing you know I may say that the moon doesn’t even exist.
That’s cute, and I like the message of the song.
Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer, do.
Because it was always my favorite part. Remember that’s the movie Scott and I used to watch EVERY time we babysat (which used to be alot).
hey… I want my Amelie CD back…
Ah you caught it. Good work. What really made me wonder, though, is why he thinks she’s so fine when the bicycle is half unfilled?
Then he’s also steering. And should be paying attention to the road, not his date. Danger!
Are you implying that one should stop dating his woman simply because she’s his wife? What a terrible thing!
(come on, I have to have something to jab with after you so thoroughly owned me on the grammar)
Sigh, you and every other girl.
I was just talking about that tonight. It’s not that big a deal. I just like the idea of a trip to austin. That’s where I’m thinking about spending the weekend. I have an invitation to a few hurricano parties though, so I’m not sure. I might just weather it out here, if it stays a cat 3 and doesn’t hit houston directly.
